About us

GUIDES CANINS was born in 1994 from the passion and vision of Julie Sansregret. In 1997, the company was officially registered, marking a significant milestone in its growth. In 2000, the acquisition of agricultural land laid the foundation for a dedicated center for dog education and sports. After securing the necessary permits, the first facility was built in 2004 and officially inaugurated in 2005. That same year, GUIDES CANINS became an incorporated company. In 2009, the facility doubled in size with the addition of an agility hall.

In 2017, Martin Hogue dedicated himself full time to the company and initiated the design of a new building to meet the needs of our growing clientele. Two years later, in 2019, Chelsea DuJardin became a shareholder, further strengthening the company’s vision and leadership.

This evolution culminated in 2022 with the construction of the Multisport Complex, an eco-friendly project reflecting our commitment to sustainability. Our state-of-the-art facilities were completed and officially inaugurated in September 2023, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for GUIDES CANINS.

With modern facilities, a passionate team and a loyal clientele, GUIDES CANINS continues to grow while maintaining its commitment to excellence. We are proud to contribute to the development of harmonious relationships between dogs and their families for three decades now.

Our services encompass a wide range of offerings designed to strengthen the bond between humans and their dogs. We provide training in various dog sports, organize educational seminars and conferences on topics related to canine physical and mental well-being, and host sports competitions to assess and apply learned skills. Additionally, we offer boarding and daycare, a fully equipped grooming salon, a boutique, hall rentals, and selective breeding services.

GUIDES CANINS is a leading authority in dog training, canine sports, and canine well-being in Quebec. Since our inception, our mission has been to share our passion and help build strong, evolving human-dog partnerships. We achieve this by providing top-quality services and organizing engaging, enriching activities for both two- and four-legged family members, fostering meaningful relationships and lifelong bonds.

Our training and life philosophy is based on our responsibility to set the dog up for success. This is done by ensuring good physical health, managing the environment and the antecedents, and through conditioning that emphasizes positive reinforcement (offering something the dog likes to increase the likelihood that the behavior will be repeated) and negative punishment (removing something the dog likes to decrease the likelihood that a behavior will be repeated). This philosophy promotes the development of a team relationship with the dog by fostering mutual understanding and trust between the dog and its owner. Our values are: Well-being, respect, competence, quality and fun for all!

Within our organization, we prioritize customer service, teamwork, mutual support. Canine and humane respect and passion are our signature! Our goal is to provide exceptional customer service, excellent working conditions for our employees, and a stimulating, motivating, safe, and enjoyable environment for everyone.

Our commitment to our boarders is to provide attentive care in their owners’ absence, treating each one with respect and consideration according to their individual needs and personality. We prioritize their safety and well-being by maintaining a clean, secure environment with controlled temperature and ventilation. Our supervision is vigilant, conscientious, and highly competent. We give food, medication, and care according to provided instructions, with fresh water available at all times. Dogs receive ample exercise and opportunities to express their natural social and physical behaviors, including relieving themselves, playing, socializing, exploring, and running—at least six times every 24 hours.

Our breeding program is dedicated to planning, producing, conditioning, evaluating, and placing dogs with outstanding temperaments, mentally stable, confident, resilient, physically healthy with good work ethic, according to the breed standard, well prepared to become eventual good citizens and best friends. Additionally, we provide lifelong support and monitoring of the dogs we produce to continuously refine and improve our breeding goals.

Our team, made up of experts in education, training and canine well-being, is dedicated to offering services that meet the specific needs of each dog, regardless of age, breed or personality.

GUIDES CANINS mission along with that of its employees is to transmit their passion while creating and developing human-dog teams, by offering various services and organizing fun and rewarding activities to engage all members of the family, 2 and four legged alike, in order to build and maintain their relationship.
