Our indoor pool can be used all year long for numerous types of aquatic sports including, but nt limited to, initation to swimming, swimming practice, dock diving, hydro-dash, rally-eay, swim games and aqua agility. During the colder months the dock is smaller and only 6 feet is available to train, during the warmer months a dock of 40 feet is available (that goes from outside to inside).

 

The aquatique sports are perfect for young dogs and also old dogs, because of the fact that they are low impact for the dogs articulations and offer all of the advantages of other types of exercise.

5 weeks/ 5 classes of 55 minutes

Prerequisites: Dog is between 2 and 9 months old. 

Introduce your dog to the pool while teaching him to swim safely and confidently. Your dog might not actually go in the water the first weeks, and it’s normal! Each dog at their own pace!
During the 5 weeks, your dog will learn to:

  • Wear a flotation device
  • Getting in and out of the water safely
  • To swim in the pool

Prerequisites: For dogs who can swim, who have completed the introductory swimming course or who have come to a guided practice to assess the dog’s swimming level.
To work on agility skills in the water! Work on distance, handling techniques, verbal commands. The goal of the course is to be able to handle the dog from the pool side but at first, your dog may need your help in the pool. Come work and perfect your handling and tire your dog out!

  • Develop confidence to jump off the dock
  • Building take off and jump to catch the toy

  • Encourage the dog increase speed for Air Retrieve and Jump distance for Air Retrieve

  • Developping the dogs confidence to swim around the pool
  • Working the jumping, turning and speed

Prerequisites: Have completed the Introduction to Dock Diving class, HYDRO DASH class and Air Retrieve class  OR for those who already compete in all three disciplines.

H.AR.D, Charger is an acronym for the three disciplines NADD offers its competitors. Hydro Dash, Air Retrieve and Distance. The H.AR.D. Charger Award is for dogs that are competing in all three disciplines and will be a recognition award for Regionals & Nationals. When a competitor competes in all 3 disciplines at one event, they will accumulate a set number of points for the highest qualifying score in each discipline: Hydro Dash, Air Retrieve and Distance. Those points will then be combined to place your dog in a division, based on the total points accumulated. Like an Iron Man event. The divisions will be lowest to highest: Topaz, Ruby, Emerald, Sapphire & Diamond
Course objective:
  • To increase dogs capacity in each of the three disciplines
  • To work on skills to make both the dog and the handler better in the three disciplines
  • To have fun with your dogs while perfecting your teams capacity in Hydro-Dash, Distance and Air Retrieve.
